New York Woman Arrested After Allegedly Striking Driver During McDonald’s Drive-Thru Dispute

A woman from Upstate New York has been arrested after police say she became upset over a delay in a fast-food drive-thru line and allegedly slapped the driver of the vehicle in front of her.

According to the information released by police, the incident happened shortly after midnight on June 20 at a McDonald’s restaurant located on East Main Street in Gouverneur, New York. Authorities identified the woman as 39-year-old Constance Cota of Gouverneur.

Police said Cota was riding as a passenger in a vehicle waiting in the drive-thru line when she became frustrated with the amount of time it was taking for the vehicle ahead to receive its food. Investigators allege that she got out of her vehicle, walked to the car in front of her, and struck the male driver in the face.

The alleged confrontation took place while both vehicles were waiting in line at the restaurant. According to police, the driver who was struck had been completing his order when the incident occurred.

Following the reported assault, law enforcement investigated the incident and later arrested Cota. Police said the alleged altercation stemmed from frustration over what was perceived as a slow-moving drive-thru line.

The case serves as another reminder that moments of frustration in public places can quickly turn into situations involving law enforcement. While delays at restaurants or other businesses can be inconvenient, authorities encourage people to remain patient and avoid confrontations that could lead to criminal allegations.

At this stage, the information released by police outlines the allegations surrounding the incident. As with any criminal case, the matter will proceed through the legal process.
