Pedro “Chris” Castillo, who worked in North Jersey, is now permanently prohibited from practicing massage therapy anywhere in the state. The decision came after he reached an agreement with the New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy, resolving serious allegations brought against him. The action was confirmed by the state Office of the Attorney General on Thursday.
The case centers on incidents that reportedly took place at two separate workplaces, including a chiropractic and physical therapy practice in Wayne and a spa located in East Rutherford. Authorities stated that the complaints involved multiple female clients, raising significant concerns about professional conduct and client safety.
According to official records, several women came forward with detailed accusations describing inappropriate behavior during massage sessions. These allegations include claims that Castillo failed to properly maintain professional boundaries by exposing clients’ private areas through improper draping techniques. In addition, he was accused of touching intimate body parts in a sexual manner and engaging in behavior that violated the trust expected in a therapeutic setting.
One of the more serious claims involved an incident where he allegedly placed a client’s hand on his body in a sexual way. Other reports described actions such as making physical contact with his own body against clients and attempting to initiate inappropriate interactions. The consent order filed with the licensing board outlines these allegations and confirms that Castillo agreed to give up his license permanently.
