Tragic Late-Night Crash Near Quakerbridge Mall Claims Life of Former NJ College Basketball Player

A late-night traffic accident near Quakerbridge Mall in Lawrence Township, New Jersey, has claimed the life of a 22-year-old former college basketball player, leaving the local sports community and residents in shock.
Authorities confirmed that Rickey Boone Jr., a young man from West Windsor, died after a single-vehicle crash on Route 1 late Thursday night. According to police, the incident occurred at around 11:05 p.m. when Boone was driving northbound near the Kelly Viaduct.
Investigators said the SUV unexpectedly left the roadway and ended up in a small body of water near the highway. Witnesses in the area noticed the vehicle submerged and immediately contacted emergency services. First responders from Lawrence and Trenton fire departments, along with EMS personnel, quickly arrived at the scene and worked to recover Boone from the vehicle.
