Fusion Transport Announces 79 Job Cuts at Piscataway Facility Starting in October

A New Jersey-based logistics company is preparing to reduce its workforce, with dozens of employees expected to lose their jobs this fall.
Fusion Transport LLC has filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the State of New Jersey, showing plans to lay off 79 employees at its facility in Piscataway. According to the filing, the layoffs are scheduled to take effect on October 1.
The planned workforce reduction affects the company’s Piscataway location. At this time, it has not been confirmed whether the facility itself will remain open after the layoffs or if the site will eventually close. No additional details have been provided regarding the future of the location.
Fusion Transport is a New Jersey-based logistics company that offers a range of supply chain services across the United States. Its operations include freight management, warehousing, e-commerce fulfillment, and retail consolidation. The company works with major retailers, grocery chains, and e-commerce businesses to manage the movement and storage of goods.
The company was created in 2019 after private equity firm Hudson Hill Capital combined GTLi and AmTrans Expedite to form Fusion Transport. Since then, the business has expanded its operations while maintaining its headquarters in Rutherford, New Jersey, along with additional facilities in New Jersey and other parts of the country.
Commercial business data estimates Fusion Transport’s annual revenue to be between $65 million and $106 million, reflecting its position as an established logistics provider serving customers nationwide.
The WARN notice filed with the state provides advance notice of the planned job reductions, but it does not explain the reason behind the layoffs. As of now, it also remains unclear how the decision may affect the company’s broader operations beyond the Piscataway facility.
NJ.com has contacted Fusion Transport for comment, but the company had not publicly responded at the time of the report.
The filing gives affected employees advance notice before the layoffs become effective on October 1. Any additional information regarding the Piscataway facility or the company’s future plans may become available if Fusion Transport releases further statements.
