Traffic Helper Seriously Hurt After Van Strikes Him at Busy Raritan Township Intersection

A commercial car slammed a traffic management at a busy Raritan Township crossroads on Tuesday afternoon, sending him to a regional trauma hospital with critical injuries.
Traffic was heavy on Old York Road and Voorhees Corner Road at 4 p.m., when a car crashed. West Windsor police say a 40-year-old man let drivers leave his driveway.
A southbound Ram Promaster van hit the victim on Old York Road. After a pedestrian accident, emergency workers responded immediately. He was awake and had a head injury when rescue workers found him.
A New Jersey State Police NorthStar chopper took the victim to the trauma unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for further treatment due to his severe injuries. His health hasn’t been disclosed by the police.
Many officials had to intervene due to the disaster’s severity and the requirement for coordinated emergency action. The Prosecutor’s Office, Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad, and Hunterdon Medical Center paramedics assisted Raritan Township police and fire. Investigators and emergency responders delayed traffic.
The crash was under police investigation. Driver behavior, road conditions, and accident visibility. Police said the case is ongoing, therefore no charges have been filed.
