Mikie Sherrill Holds Narrow Lead Over Jack Ciattarelli in New Jersey Governor’s Race, Latest Poll Shows

Quinnipiac University polls show Republican governor candidate Jack Ciattarelli trailing Democrat Mikie Sherrill. The September 11–15, 2025 poll found that 49% of likely voters supported Sherrill and 41% Ciattarelli. Libertarian Vic Kaplan and Socialist Workers Party Joanne Kuniansky each receive 1%. 4% more voters are undecided.
As the election approaches, people worry more about taxation and government honesty. Being honest and caring makes Sherrill a great manager. This may sway skeptics. Sherrill leads Ciattarelli by 45% among independents.
Sherrill has more supporters, but Ciattarelli’s campaign is greater. He used $1.3 million to advertise against Sherrill. He utilized a May interview to indicate she had problems expressing her opinions. Like his family, Sherrill has lived in New Jersey for 15 years. The identification-based objective is to make Sherrill seem odd. Similar actions were taken against Democratic leaders.
Both parties emphasize cost-cutting. Sherrill plans to declare an energy pricing emergency if she wins. Some doubt her energy price-stabilization strategy will work. People who want to save money like Ciattarelli because he wants cheaper property taxes.
The primary season in New Jersey was one of the most expensive at almost $145 million. Because they think Ciattarelli can win the state, powerful Republican groups like the Republican Governors Association have given him a lot of money. Democratic super PACs have helped Sherrill’s campaign raise a lot of money.
New Jersey’s governor election is approaching. The race is close. People who haven’t decided are trying to change their views and support both candidates. New Jersey voters care about taxes, morals, and affordability, so they will dominate the contest.
