Campus administrators clarified that the event occurred in the non-campus area next to the university. The shelter-in-place order was lifted after several hours. This occurred shortly after the culprit was arrested and questioned. The institution canceled classes for the day. Next morning, everything was fine.
Authorities allege Heinz attempted murder, hit someone hard with a gun, and committed additional firearms crimes. The Atlantic County Justice Facility holds him. The victim’s recovery worried university officials, and locals said the episode demonstrates how fast road rage can turn lethal, even over a minor driving dispute.
