New York Truck Driver Dies in Interstate 80 Collision as Parked Tractor-Trailer Catches Fire in Warren County

A 25-year-old truck driver from New York lost his life in a serious early-morning crash on Interstate 80 in Warren County, New Jersey, on Wednesday after his tractor-trailer collided with another tractor-trailer that was parked along the highway shoulder.
According to authorities, the crash happened at approximately 6:55 a.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate 80 near milepost 8 in Knowlton Township. State police said the driver, identified as Karwinder Singh of South Ozone Park, New York, was operating a tractor-trailer when it struck a second tractor-trailer that had been stopped on the right shoulder of the roadway.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found significant damage from the impact. Singh was pronounced dead at the crash site. Officials said the collision was severe and left little chance for survival.
A 24-year-old passenger traveling in Singh’s truck suffered minor injuries. Authorities reported that he was the only person injured in addition to the driver. No injuries were reported involving anyone connected to the parked tractor-trailer.
Following the collision, the parked truck caught fire, creating an additional hazard for emergency crews responding to the scene. Firefighters worked to control the blaze while law enforcement officers secured the area and began documenting evidence related to the crash.
