Florida Rapper Kodak Black Taken Into Custody Again Amid Ongoing Legal Troubles

Florida rapper Kodak Black was taken into custody again this week after authorities in Broward County arrested him on new charges related to resisting an officer and attempting to flee law enforcement. The arrest comes only days after the artist faced separate felony drug trafficking charges earlier this month, adding another chapter to his growing legal challenges in Florida.

According to jail records, the 28-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was booked into Broward County Jail on Thursday. Officials said the new case involves allegations of resisting law enforcement officers and trying to evade police during an investigation. Authorities have not publicly released extensive details about the latest incident.

The new arrest follows Kapri’s earlier detention on May 6 in connection with a felony drug trafficking investigation tied to an incident that reportedly happened in Orlando in November 2025. Investigators claimed they discovered MDMA and nearly $37,000 in cash inside a vehicle connected to the case after officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area.

Court records related to the earlier case showed that police investigators also connected several items found inside the vehicle to images previously shared by the rapper on social media. Authorities alleged that accessories recovered from the car appeared similar to items shown in posts published on his Instagram account.

Kapri pleaded not guilty to the drug trafficking allegations after his first arrest this month and was later released on a $75,000 bond. However, following the newest arrest in Broward County, reports indicate he is currently being held without bail on the latest charges.

His attorney, Bradford Cohen, defended the rapper and criticized the investigation surrounding the arrests. Cohen stated that the latest booking was part of a voluntary surrender process connected to a months-long investigation. He also argued that his client has been unfairly targeted by authorities.

The attorney described the case as weak and questioned the timing of the repeated arrests. He said the investigation had reportedly been ongoing for several months and claimed the legal actions against the rapper were becoming a pattern.

Kodak Black remains one of the most recognized hip-hop artists from Florida and has frequently made headlines for both his music career and legal issues over the years. The rapper has previously faced several arrests and court cases involving weapons, drugs, and probation-related matters.

At this stage, officials have not announced additional details regarding upcoming court appearances connected to the newest charges. The investigation remains active, and further information could emerge as the legal process continues in Broward County.
