Two Young Children Die After Family Boat Accident in New Jersey’s Barnegat Bay
A heartbreaking boating accident in New Jersey has claimed the lives of two young siblings, leaving their family and local community in mourning. State Police said the children were passengers aboard a 30-foot Tidewater 280 boat being operated by their 63-year-old grandfather. Their 64-year-old grandmother was also on board during the trip.
Investigators said the vessel struck a channel marker while moving through the waterway. The impact threw both children into the water. Their grandparents immediately entered the water and recovered both grandchildren before emergency responders arrived. Despite rescue efforts, the two children could not be saved.
