Thomas Massie Pushes Back After Reporter Questions Him About Personal Allegations

A tense exchange between outgoing Republican Congressman Thomas Massie and a Fox News reporter has drawn fresh attention after the lawmaker strongly rejected personal allegations and turned the questioning back on the journalist during a recorded confrontation.

The incident began when the reporter asked Massie to respond to claims made by Cynthia West, a former congressional aide who has described herself as his ex-girlfriend. West previously alleged that she was offered $5,000 to withdraw a wrongful termination lawsuit against Representative Victoria Spartz, a political ally of Massie.

Massie immediately dismissed the claims, calling them completely false. During the conversation, he also denied allegations suggesting he had a sexual relationship with Representative Lauren Boebert.

As the questioning continued, the discussion quickly shifted away from the original allegations. In a video later shared by Massie on social media platform X, the congressman challenged the reporter by asking whether rumors that he watched gay pornography were true.

The reporter responded that he was simply giving Massie an opportunity to address the allegations that had been circulating. However, Massie continued pressing the reporter, arguing that if journalists expect public officials to answer claims based on rumors, reporters should also be willing to respond to similar unverified accusations directed at themselves.

Massie repeatedly encouraged the reporter to deny the allegation against him, saying it should be easy if it were false. He also questioned the reporter’s role as a journalist and asked whether this was the standard approach used by Fox News when covering elected officials.

The reporter eventually replied that he did not like such material, but Massie continued the exchange by saying that was not what he had heard. The confrontation ended shortly afterward.

The latest incident comes only weeks after Representative Lauren Boebert had a similar confrontation with the same reporter. During that exchange, the reporter raised accusations connected to Massie’s alleged former girlfriend while questioning Boebert.

Boebert reacted angrily, criticizing the questions and accusing the reporter of relying on what she described as sexist and attention-grabbing tactics. She rejected being drawn into the controversy and expressed frustration over being linked to allegations involving another member of Congress.

The confrontation also follows a major political setback for Massie. Last month, he lost the Republican primary election to a challenger backed by President Donald Trump. The defeat came after months of public disagreements between Massie and Trump on several major issues, including the Iran conflict and efforts involving the Justice Department’s release of investigative files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

During the primary campaign, Trump repeatedly criticized Massie, at one point describing him as the worst Republican member of Congress in history.

Despite losing the primary, Massie has indicated that he is not planning to step away from politics. He recently filed paperwork to seek his congressional seat again in 2028. According to Massie, the filing allows him to continue raising funds to support his political activities while remaining active in public life.

Massie has also declined to rule out a possible presidential campaign in 2028. In recent comments, he said he intends to remain politically engaged even if that role comes from outside Congress.

The confrontation with the Fox News reporter has now become another high-profile moment in the final stage of Massie’s current congressional career. While the personal allegations remain firmly denied by the congressman, the exchange has added to the ongoing public attention surrounding one of the Republican Party’s most outspoken and frequently debated figures.
