SUV Rollover Crash in Passaic Claims Life of 38-Year-Old Wayne Resident; Investigation Underway

A tragic rollover crash in Passaic, New Jersey, resulted in the death of a 38-year-old man from Passaic County on Saturday afternoon, according to local authorities. Officials confirmed that the incident is now under active investigation as they work to determine what led to the fatal collision.
The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. in the 900 block of Main Avenue in Passaic. Based on initial findings shared by city officials, the driver was operating an SUV when it collided with a parked vehicle near the intersection of Main Avenue and Summer Street. The impact caused the SUV to overturn, landing on its roof.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene following the crash, but the driver was pronounced dead. Authorities have not publicly released the victim’s name at this time. It has been confirmed, however, that he was a resident of Wayne and had family connections in Passaic.
Local officials, including Passaic Mayor Hector Lora, acknowledged the incident and noted that investigators are currently reviewing all possible factors that may have contributed to the crash. One line of inquiry includes whether the driver may have experienced a sudden medical emergency before the collision occurred. At this stage, no final determination has been made.
The area where the crash happened remained a focus for investigators for some time as they documented evidence and assessed the scene. Police have not indicated that any other individuals were injured in the incident.
Authorities continue to urge caution for drivers, especially in busy city corridors like Main Avenue, where parked vehicles and traffic movement can create challenging driving conditions. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses and more information becomes available.
