South Jersey Store Sells Nearly $1.5 Million Winning Jersey Cash 5 Ticket

A lucky lottery player in South Jersey is holding a ticket worth nearly $1.5 million after winning the top prize in Saturday’s Jersey Cash 5 drawing.
According to New Jersey lottery officials, the jackpot-winning ticket for the May 17 drawing was sold at Super Lucky 7 Deli & Convenience located on South Broadway in Gloucester City, Camden County. The winning ticket matched all five numbers drawn to secure the massive prize of $1,490,773.
The numbers selected in the drawing were 3, 18, 27, 31, and 43. Officials also confirmed that the XTRA multiplier for the drawing was 3X, while the Bullseye number was 27.
The jackpot had continued to grow after nine consecutive drawings passed without a top-prize winner. Saturday’s drawing finally ended that streak, creating one of the larger Jersey Cash 5 wins seen recently in the state.
Lottery players across New Jersey regularly participate in Jersey Cash 5 because of its daily drawings and growing jackpots when no winner is selected. Even though many residents play casually, the odds of matching all five numbers remain extremely difficult. State lottery officials say the chances of winning the jackpot with a standard $2 ticket are 1 in 1,221,759.
No jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Sunday’s drawing, allowing the prize pool for Monday’s Jersey Cash 5 drawing to rise again. Officials announced that the estimated jackpot for the next drawing now stands at $168,000.
The identity of the latest jackpot winner has not been released. In New Jersey, lottery winners may need time to claim prizes as officials verify tickets and complete the official validation process.
The winning sale also brings attention to Gloucester City, where the convenience store that sold the ticket is expected to receive recognition for selling the jackpot-winning entry. Lottery retailers in New Jersey often receive bonuses for selling major winning tickets, depending on the game and prize amount.
Jersey Cash 5 remains one of the most followed lottery games in the state because drawings take place every day and jackpots can build quickly when no player matches all numbers. The latest win now resets the game’s top prize while players across New Jersey continue trying their luck in upcoming drawings.
