New Jersey Turnpike Crash Leaves 26-Year-Old Passenger Dead After SUV Hits Tree in Camden County

A 26-year-old woman lost her life after an SUV crashed into a tree along the New Jersey Turnpike early Tuesday morning in Camden County, according to New Jersey State Police.
The crash happened at approximately 2:33 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike near milepost 28.6 in Lawnside. Authorities said the SUV was traveling south when the driver veered off the roadway to the right before striking a tree.
The woman, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, suffered critical injuries in the crash. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died at approximately 4:30 a.m. Officials have not yet publicly released her identity.
The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A rear-seat passenger was also injured and suffered moderate injuries. Both survivors received medical care following the crash.
