New Jersey Braces for Chilly Weekend Before Brief Warm Spell and Midweek Storm Risk

A noticeable warmup is forecast to begin on Monday as sunshine returns and temperatures climb into the upper 60s and low 70s. Despite the warmer air, gusty winds near 20 miles per hour may still be present, continuing the pattern of breezy conditions.
The warming trend will peak on Tuesday, which is expected to be the mildest day of the week. Temperatures could rise into the upper 70s and approach 80 degrees in parts of northern and central New Jersey. Skies will start off clearer but may gradually turn cloudier as the day progresses, signaling another change in the weather pattern.
By Wednesday, temperatures will remain in the 70s, but conditions are expected to become more unsettled. Rain chances will increase significantly as a cold front approaches from the west and slows down over the region.
A more organized storm system is expected to move through on Thursday, bringing widespread rainfall across the state. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms late Tuesday night into Wednesday and again on Thursday. However, it remains too early to determine whether any severe weather will develop.
Following the passage of the storm system, cooler air is expected to return. Temperatures will drop back into the 60s as the region heads into next weekend, marking another shift back to more moderate spring conditions.
