Aaron Carter’s Family Seeks Support for Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Through Public Fundraiser

Jane Carter Schneck, the mother of late American pop singer Aaron Carter, has initiated a public fundraising campaign to help secure a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her son. The move comes as part of an effort to formally recognize the singer’s contributions to the music and entertainment industry.

The GoFundMe campaign was launched earlier this week with a financial target set at $85,000. According to the campaign details, the collected amount will be used to cover the full cost required for the Hollywood Walk of Fame star, including its creation, installation, and long-term upkeep. The initiative is described as a collective effort involving fans, friends, and supporters who wish to honor Aaron Carter’s legacy.

As of Friday morning, the fundraiser had raised around $900, reflecting early-stage contributions from supporters. The campaign highlights the intention to keep Aaron Carter’s memory alive and ensure his achievements in the entertainment world are formally recognized.

Schneck also shared that she plans to submit the required nomination paperwork before the May 15 deadline. Under the Hollywood Walk of Fame selection process, individuals must first be officially nominated and then approved before a sponsorship fee is required. The fee, which stands at $85,000, is used to fund the installation and maintenance of the star.

Aaron Carter, widely recognized for his success as a teen pop artist in the late 1990s and early 2000s, rose to fame with hits such as “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It),” “That’s How I Beat Shaq,” and his version of “I Want Candy.” He also appeared in several popular television shows including Lizzie McGuire, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and 7th Heaven, which contributed to his early visibility in the entertainment industry.

He passed away in 2022 at the age of 34 following an accidental drowning in a bathtub, with reports stating that the cause involved the effects of difluoroethane, a substance found in aerosol sprays, and alprazolam, commonly known as Xanax.

According to his mother, Aaron Carter would have deeply appreciated having his name permanently displayed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a place he had often visited during his time in Los Angeles.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame selection process requires candidates to demonstrate professional achievements, long-term contributions to the entertainment field, and public recognition. Posthumous nominations are allowed, but only after a mandatory waiting period.

The campaign continues to gain attention as supporters consider it a way to celebrate the life and career of a singer who remained a notable figure in pop culture from a young age.
