Teen Faces Multiple Charges After Fatal Police Pursuit Crash in Ewing

News reports indicate a 13-year-old girl died in Ewing, New Jersey, after police chased her in a stolen automobile. Everyone was stunned by the December 19 evening accident. It raised concerns about youth crime and driving.
Police said the accident occurred along Parkway Avenue and Prospect Street. At 6:45 p.m., Ewing police sought to stop a stolen automobile traveling north on Prospect Street. Police say the 15-year-old driver sped up and wouldn’t stop despite their emergency lights.
The chase ended tragically when the stolen automobile ran a red light at Parkway Avenue and hit a four-person car. Three kids were severely injured. A 13-year-old girl was hospitalized and died the next day. Police haven’t identified her.
Two Trenton 15-year-olds were apprehended there. The driver faces death by auto, aggravated manslaughter, assault by auto, several counts of aggravated assault, auto theft, fleeing police, and other traffic violations. An individual in the stolen car was charged with felony auto theft. Trafficking charges follow the teen’s claim that he murdered someone while driving without a license.
The Ewing Police Department reported the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating. The police haven’t commented further.
This shows how dangerous police speeding is and how horrible young criminality is. The government wants people to be careful and report suspicious conduct to prevent further tragedies.
