Marjorie Taylor Greene Reveals Threats Following Fallout with Trump

Since taking office in 2021, Georgia congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene, known for her outspokenness, has received many death threats. After criticizing former President Donald Trump, Greene says these threats increased.

In her first significant public interview since resigning from Congress early, Greene described several unsettling instances, including a pipe bomb threat to her house and multiple threats to her young son. She said Trump’s calls her a traitor “directly fueled” these threats.

Greene resigned in early January a year before her tenure expired. This followed her growing distance from Trump and GOP leadership, which led to the former president pulling his support and calling her a “ranting lunatic” and “disgrace” to the party.

Greene blasted Trump’s 2024 campaign promises and response to the Epstein files throughout the discussion. She also complained about GOP leadership’s inaction when she informed them of the threats. She said Vice President JD Vance told her the threats would be investigated, but her private conversation with Trump was unpleasant.

Greene posted screenshots on social media to support her death threats and lamented the inaction of prominent Republican officials, including the White House chief of staff and deputy staffers. She noted her near-perfect voting record and large financial contributions to Trump and the party, but felt neglected for personal security. Without considering internet threats to her family, Greene reported 773 death threats to Capitol Police. However, she said she never had a security detail like prominent government officials.

In contrast to MAGA, Greene called her position “America First,” emphasizing that domestic policy should have been Trump’s top priority. She said her critique was based on her campaign vows to prioritize domestic challenges above foreign ones.

This admission underlines Republican Party fissures, particularly among Trump supporters who have now turned against him. Greene’s revelations highlight public leaders’ safety and security during political debates.
