Thieves Steal 4 Unlocked Vehicles With Keys Left Inside Within Minutes in N.J. Town

Four unlocked cars were stolen in Wenonah in a few minutes early Saturday morning, police said. Normally peaceful South Jersey neighborhood woke up. The robbers promptly grabbed open cars with keys in the morning, police added.

Wenonah’s Mantua Township police located some stolen cars inside an hour. Three cars stolen were located soon. Camden got two and Wenonah scored three. While the inquiry proceeds, the fourth car is missing.

According to police, these thefts are common in New Jersey. Leaving automobiles unlocked overnight attracts thieves. Many perpetrators check door handles street-by-street and depart in any easily driven car, police said.

Too many people leave their cars unlocked, which worries police, who warn the community is being targeted.

Before bed, police recommended homeowners to lock their doors and remove their car keys. They demonstrated that the community must work together to fight these crimes, which are growing more widespread in New Jersey.
