Time Ticks Down on New Jersey Voter Registration Ahead of Hotly Contested Governor’s Race

New Jersey residents are rushing to register to vote for governor. In the final hours of this year’s most anticipated state election, people hurry to register.
Winning this race is vital. On November 4, New Jerseyans choose a governor and legislature. Democrats Mikie Sherrill and Republicans Jack Ciattarelli are monitored nationwide. Both candidates have spent weeks visiting New Jersey discussing business support.
Residents must qualify to vote. They must be 17 (you can vote at 18), U.S. citizens, and have lived in their county for 30 days before Election Day. Those on bail, release, or pre-trial custody can sign up, but convicts cannot.
You can register to vote online or in person. Faster online registration requires a driver’s license, state ID, or Social Security number and a digital signature. Send paper forms to the county voting office. Registering by the deadline is key. Oct. 14 is the state Division of Elections’ registration deadline. Voter registration ends today.
After registration, there are numerous voting options. Send your voter application before Election Day. Early voting is available in person from October 25 to November 2. Election Day polling venues are open to all state citizens.
Communications and campaigns have grown. To motivate people, both major party campaigns have underlined the need of signing up quickly in recent hours. New Jersey citizens who miss the deadline can’t vote in a close contest. Community, social, and local government groups emphasize this.
Unselected New Jerseyans have until the deadline to affect the state’s fate.
