Mount Holly Man, 25, Fatally Shot in Local Park; Family Seeks Answers

Mount Holly’s 25-year-old man was shot and killed in a park on Monday night, bringing family grief and calls for justice. At Mill Dam Park, family-identified Andre Ross was shot in the back, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor. The police found Ross dead in Wollner Drive park at 5:48 p.m.

Ross, who lived across the street, may have rushed into the park to avoid being shot. His mother, Latanya Ross, called the shooting “senseless gun violence” and said her son was trying to change his life. She begged the shooters to repent and forgiven them.

Family said he loved his four-year-old daughter. His friends called Ross a humble, caring, responsible father. Both his aunt and sister stated they can’t believe he’s gone and that public comments are sad.

No one has been detained, and police have revealed few details about the act and reason. Photo and video evidence are needed by the Burlington County Prosecutor. Police close Mill Dam Park.

To commemorate Ross and urge for peace while the town mourns, the family arranged a park vigil. They hope someone can help give his horrible death closure and accountability.
