Over 79,000 Backyard Zipline Products Recalled After Safety Failures Leave Multiple People Injured
Families across the United States are being urged to stop using certain backyard zipline products after a nationwide recall was announced over serious safety concerns. The recall affects more than 79,000 products, including complete zipline kits and separate spring brakes, following dozens of reports involving equipment failures that have led to injuries.
According to federal safety officials, the recalled products may break, detach, or fail to slow riders properly during use. These defects can cause users to fall from the zipline or crash into nearby trees, creating a significant risk of serious injury for both children and adults.
The recall covers approximately 60,720 TT Trsmima backyard zipline kits and about 19,120 spring brakes that were sold separately. The products were available for purchase through Amazon between March 2020 and May 2026, making them widely accessible to consumers across the country.
Investigators found that several important parts of the zipline kits, including the turnbuckle, cable, and seat, may fail while someone is riding. The manufacturer has received 21 reports describing these types of failures. As a result, at least eight people suffered injuries ranging from fractures and sprains to bruises and cuts.
Safety concerns also extend to the recalled spring brakes, which are designed to slow riders before they reach the end of the zipline. Officials said the company received 19 reports of these brakes failing to reduce speed as intended. In several cases, riders collided with trees or experienced dangerous falls, leading to at least 12 additional injuries, including concussions, fractures, and abrasions.
Backyard ziplines have become a popular outdoor activity for families, especially during warmer months. However, safety experts warn that even well-installed equipment can become dangerous if critical components fail during use. This recall highlights the importance of checking recreational equipment regularly and responding quickly when manufacturers or government agencies announce safety notices.
The recalled TT Trsmima zipline kits include the components needed to install backyard ziplines ranging from approximately 76 feet to 200 feet in length. Each kit typically contains a steel cable, turnbuckle or ratchet strap, plastic seat, waist belt or harness, trolley, spring brake, and installation hardware.
Some of the trolleys included in the recalled kits display the words “TT TRSMIMA” in white lettering. Certain seats also feature a manufacturer label identifying HuNanBoLuoDianZiShangWuYouXianGongSi. The recalled stand-alone spring brakes are black with black stoppers at each end and do not include labels or instruction manuals.
Federal safety officials recommend that consumers stop using these products immediately. Continuing to use the recalled zipline kits or spring brakes could increase the risk of severe injuries if the equipment fails during operation.
Consumers seeking a refund must permanently disable the recalled products before submitting a claim. Owners of the zipline kits are instructed to remove the equipment, cut the safety belt, seat rope, and any included ratchet strap in half, and dispose of the remaining components, including the cable, trolley, spring brake, and turnbuckle. Those who purchased the spring brakes separately should also discard them.
Before receiving a refund, consumers must take photographs showing the destroyed and discarded products and submit the images to the manufacturer as part of the recall process.
Product recalls involving recreational equipment are issued to reduce the risk of future injuries and encourage consumers to remove potentially hazardous products from use as quickly as possible. Safety experts advise consumers to monitor recall announcements regularly, particularly for products used by children or families, and to register eligible products whenever possible so they can receive future safety notifications directly.
Anyone who owns a TT Trsmima backyard zipline kit or spring brake purchased during the affected sales period should verify whether their product is included in the recall and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to complete the refund process.
