Jersey City Apartment Shooting Leaves Two Residents Dead, Investigation Ongoing

Two Jersey City residents lost their lives after a shooting inside an apartment early Monday morning, according to authorities.

Police responded to reports of gunfire shortly after 1 a.m. at an apartment building located on the 100 block of Old Bergen Road in Jersey City. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds inside the residence.

The victims were later identified as 53-year-old Luis Quintero and 52-year-old Kenneth Darby. Officials said both men were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead a short time later. Authorities confirmed that both victims were residents of Jersey City.

The investigation is being handled by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office along with Jersey City police. At this stage, officials have not announced any arrests connected to the case, and investigators have not publicly shared details about what may have led to the shooting.

Law enforcement authorities continue to gather evidence and review the circumstances surrounding the incident. Detectives are also asking members of the public to come forward with any information that could help move the investigation forward.
