Paterson Teen Recovering After Early-Morning Shooting Investigation Begins

Authorities in New Jersey are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was found injured by gunfire early Tuesday morning on a street in Paterson.
According to officials, police responded around 2:45 a.m. after receiving reports about a possible shooting victim in the area. When officers arrived at the 100 block of East Holsman Street, they discovered the teenager lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.
The case is now being handled by detectives as investigators work to determine exactly what happened before the teen was located. Officials said that while the victim was found at the scene, investigators were unable to recover evidence confirming that a shooting had taken place at that exact location. That detail has added more questions to the investigation as authorities continue gathering information.
The teenager was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. Officials described the injuries as non-life-threatening, and the victim is expected to recover.
The incident has raised concerns in the local community as investigators continue reviewing the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Law enforcement officials have not yet released additional details about possible suspects or what may have led to the incident.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have information related to the case to contact investigators. The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and Paterson Police Department are continuing the investigation.
The case remains active, and more information could be released as detectives continue their work.
