New Jersey Family Arrested in Gruesome Murder and Dismemberment Case

A New Jersey man and his family were arrested for the gruesome murder and dissection of 48-year-old Harold “Hal” Miller Jr., whose remains have yet to be recovered. From a missing persons investigation, the case has revealed a dark story of violence and family involvement.

After his vehicle was abandoned in Pennsauken, New Jersey, Harold Miller was reported missing on June 14, 2025. Miller was seen playing cards with pals in Camden early June 12 before disappearing. Miller entered a Camden residence on Baird Boulevard at 11:30 a.m., according to surveillance footage. Miller never left the premises after a single bullet.

Investigators found that Everton Thomas, 41, of Camden, had spoken to Miller before his abduction. Thomas was accused of relocating Miller’s car to Pennsauken’s abandoned lot. Police investigated his home and found Miller’s bloodstains, which forensic testing proved.

Thomas’s wife, Sherrie Parker, 41, and their son, Deshawn Thomas, 22, bought a chainsaw, containers, garbage bags, and cleaning goods immediately after Miller entered the home but never left. The family was seen at Camden dumpsters multiple times, throwing away containers and trash bags.

A gunshot, loud music, and basement power tools were heard at 11 a.m. on June 12. One witness said she smelt a decomposing body and heard Parker say, “A wife got to do what she’s got to do.”

A witness claimed Deshawn Thomas that his father asked him to dismember Miller. They also noticed that Deshawn checked online to see if a chainsaw could chop meat.

Everton Thomas was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree desecration of human remains, and fourth-degree evidence tampering. Deshawn Thomas and Sherrie Parker are charged with second-degree desecration of human remains and fourth-degree evidence tampering.

Everton After authorities questioned him, Thomas escaped to Canada but was arrested at the Port of Buffalo in New York while trying to re-enter the US. His extradition to New Jersey is pending. Sherrie Parker and Deshawn Thomas are at the Camden County Correctional Facility after being arrested.

A family-loving guy dies, leaving the Miller family grieving. Despite the horrible murder, Miller’s remains and motive are unknown. The inquiry continues to seek justice for Harold Miller and his heartbroken family.
