Trump Faces Sharp Rise in Disapproval as New Fox Poll Shows Changing Voter Mood

A newly released poll from Fox News shows that former President Donald Trump is now facing his highest disapproval rating among registered voters, marking a notable shift in public opinion.

According to the latest survey conducted between March 20 and March 23, Trump’s approval rating stands at 41%, while his disapproval has climbed to 59%. This is the highest disapproval level recorded for him across both of his presidential terms. A significant portion of respondents, about 47%, said they strongly disapprove of his performance, highlighting growing intensity in voter sentiment.

The new figures reflect a gradual decline compared to recent months. In the previous poll, Trump held a 43% approval rating and 57% disapproval. The contrast becomes even more clear when compared to data from a year ago, when nearly half of voters approved of his performance, with a 49% approval and 51% disapproval split. The steady movement in numbers suggests a continued erosion of support over time.

One of the major factors influencing this shift appears to be voter dissatisfaction with how Trump is handling tensions involving Iran. The poll indicates that 64% of voters disapprove of his approach to Iran, a noticeable increase from 57% earlier in the year. This growing concern reflects unease among the public regarding ongoing military actions and foreign policy decisions.

Public opinion on the military situation itself is also divided but leans negative. Only 47% of respondents believe the military efforts in Iran are going well, while a larger 52% disagree. When asked more broadly about support for the military action, just 42% expressed approval, compared to 58% who opposed it.

The data also reveals a strong political divide in how Americans view the situation. Among Republicans, support remains high, with 77% backing the military action. However, support drops sharply among independents at 28%, and even further among Democrats, where only 12% approve. Within the Republican base, there is also a noticeable difference: 90% of MAGA-aligned Republicans support the action, compared to 52% of non-MAGA Republicans.

Uncertainty about the future of the conflict is another key concern reflected in the poll. The administration has not provided a clear timeline for when the situation might come to an end. Voters themselves appear skeptical about a quick resolution. Only 13% believe the conflict will conclude within a few weeks. A larger share, 37%, expect it to last several months, while 15% think it could continue for up to a year. Notably, 35% of respondents believe the situation may extend beyond a year.

The poll was conducted among 1,001 registered voters and carries a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points. Overall, the findings point to increasing public concern, particularly around foreign policy decisions, and suggest that these issues may continue to shape voter attitudes in the coming months.
