Overnight Fire Causes Heavy Damage at Long Branch Beachfront Club

Local authorities reported that Monmouth County firefighters fought a big fire overnight that damaged a popular Jersey Shore private beach club. The fire started early Monday morning and took a lengthy emergency response to put it.
Breakwater Beach Club in Long Branch’s 1100 block of Ocean Avenue North caught fire about 1:45 a.m., according to officials. Heavy flames and smoke from the property prompted an aggressive firefighting operation that lasted into the morning.
Given the fire’s size, authorities were relieved to report no injuries. Fire officials said the structure was extensively damaged, indicating that the club lost a lot. Crews spent hours extinguishing hot areas and preventing the fire from starting again.
A fire officer called the incident a “major fire,” stressing the flames’ size and severity. The cause of the incident is unknown, but officials immediately concentrated on controlling and safeguarding the area.
Private beachfront Breakwater Beach Club is in Elberon, Long Branch. The club is known for its beach access, pool, cabanas, and casual seaside atmosphere that draws families and lifelong residents in summer.
The June 1957-founded group is well rooted in the neighborhood. It was founded by local businesspeople when beach clubs dominated Long Branch’s coastal lifestyle. For decades, it has been a seaside seasonal attraction.
Officials have not disclosed the amount of the damage or the property’s future measures. Authorities are still investigating the situation, so further updates are expected.
