Trump Signals Strong U.S. Stance on Multiple Nations Following Venezuela Operation

After a huge military operation in Venezuela seized President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, former President Donald Trump made pronouncements on US policy toward multiple countries and territories. International attention has been drawn to the Trump administration’s effort as Maduro and his spouse face federal narco-terrorism allegations.
Trump warned reporters aboard Air Force One of Cuba’s volatility, criticized Colombian President Gustavo Petro, and reiterated his interest in Greenland on Sunday. After returning from Mar-a-Lago to Washington days after the Caracas military operation, he stated.
Trump labeled Colombian President Petro “a sick man” for bringing drugs to the US. He cautioned that Petro’s power would fade and the US may respond. When asked about U.S. involvement, Trump replied intervention “sounds good”.
Cuba needs Venezuelan oil and has no independent revenue, Trump declared. He added Cuba is “ready to fall” because to its economic dependency and political weakness, implying the U.S. expects regional power shifts.
Trump reaffirmed his desire to acquire Danish Greenland for national security. He underlined Greenland’s strategic importance but put off debate. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen immediately urged the US to stop threatening Greenland and reiterated that the US cannot annex Denmark.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio underlined that the US will push Maduro’s regime with sanctions and an oil blockade.
These declarations demonstrate U.S. concern for regional security and influence, particularly in Latin America. The Trump administration’s robust foreign policy includes targeted military operations and diplomatic communications to neighboring nations and regions.
Venezuela and Trump administration criticism have raised questions about U.S. sovereignty, foreign policy, and Americas geopolitics. Many will watch how these comments and actions influence Cuba, Colombia, and Greenland in the coming months.
