New Jersey Player Lands $100K Powerball Prize as Grand Jackpot Reaches $707 Million

A New Jersey lottery player is celebrating a major win after claiming a $100,000 prize in the latest Powerball drawing, while the game’s top jackpot continues to grow after another drawing ended without a grand prize winner.

According to lottery officials, the winning New Jersey ticket earned a third-tier prize by matching four of the five white ball numbers along with the Powerball. The ticket was purchased through the Jackpocket mobile lottery courier app, one of the licensed services that allows eligible players in New Jersey to buy official lottery tickets online.

The winning numbers for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing were 30, 36, 40, 42, and 57. The Powerball number was 2, and the Power Play multiplier for the drawing was 2X.

Although the New Jersey player secured a six-figure prize, no ticket matched all six numbers needed to claim the estimated $668 million jackpot. As a result, the jackpot has rolled over once again and is now estimated at $707 million for the next drawing scheduled for Saturday. Players who choose the lump-sum payment instead of annual instalments would receive an estimated cash option of approximately $307.9 million before taxes.

The growing jackpot has attracted attention across the country as it has become the largest Powerball prize offered so far this year. If a single ticket wins the upcoming drawing, it would rank among the largest jackpots ever awarded in the history of the Powerball game.

While no one claimed the grand prize on Wednesday, there was another significant winner outside New Jersey. Lottery officials confirmed that a ticket sold in Maryland matched the five white ball numbers but missed the Powerball, earning a second-tier prize worth $1 million.

For many lottery players, prizes like the New Jersey winner’s $100,000 payout highlight that substantial rewards are available even without hitting the jackpot. Matching four white balls and the Powerball is considered a third-level winning combination in Powerball and offers a significant cash prize.
