Trump’s “Golden Age” Hype Backfires? GOP sources say he’s repeating Biden’s error

Longtime Republican strategist Karl Rove has shocked conservatives by warning that Donald Trump may be setting himself up for political catastrophe by doing what Joe Biden did. Rove said on Fox News that Trump’s confidence in the U.S. economy could hurt him, especially with midterm elections approaching.

Trump has strengthened his Republican base but lost ground with independents, Rove noted. This change might tip the midterms to Democrats. He added that while Trump has great support on border issues, voters are skeptical of him on inflation, foreign policy, and the economy.

The real drama occurred when Rove contrasted Trump’s rhetoric to Biden’s “Bidenomics” rollout, which was lambasted for ignoring common struggles. The Trump administration calls this a “golden age of American prosperity,” but Rove says many Americans don’t feel it. Instead of rejoicing too quickly, he advises Trump to prove results first to avoid voter reaction like Biden did.

Trump has a 46% approval rating in a new Fox News poll. He tops border control approval (56%), while 55% disapprove of his economic performance and 36% of his inflation management. These data show a presidency under tremendous scrutiny—even from his party.

Trump’s optimistic outlook on the economy: bold vision or political blind spot? With midterms approaching, voters may decide if his optimism holds.
