Young Pedestrian Fatally Hit Near Monmouth Mall in Early Morning Crash

A tragic accident unfolded Friday morning in Eatontown, New Jersey, where a 22-year-old pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a vehicle near a busy roadway outside a local shopping center. According to authorities, the crash occurred at approximately 7:18 a.m. near the jughandle on Route 35, directly in front of Monmouth Mall. Officials confirmed that the victim, identified as Edwin Chavez-Solis, was attempting to cross from the east side of the road when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.

Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and transported Chavez-Solis to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, with his death recorded at around 7:40 a.m. Authorities have not yet released details about his hometown.

The driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. At this stage, officials have stated that no charges have been filed, and the case remains under active investigation.
