Newark Man Accused of Strangling His Girlfriend and Disposing of Her Body at Livingston Golf Course

Calvachi-Paz, 35, of Newark is accused of killing his 28-year-old partner, Dayana Chisaguano Maleza. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office stated the tragedy occurred in their Newark home after the wife requested out. Calvachi-Paz confessed to strangling Maleza during the dispute.

Kalvachi-Paz is suspected of driving Maleza’s body for hours and dumping it on Walnut Street near Cedar Hill Golf Course in Livingston, Essex County. A golf course worker found the body on October 7, prompting local authorities to investigate.

Calvachi-Paz texted texts from Maleza’s phone to appear alive after the crime, investigators say. Authorities said this was an intentional attempt to deceive family and police, adding to the tragedy.
