New Jersey Corrections Officer Arrested for Smuggling Drugs into Delaware Jail

A New Jersey prison officer brought cocaine into Delaware prisons. It raises state jail security and illegal item concerns.
Rashod Hull, 34, from New Jersey was arrested Sunday by Delaware State Police. His charges include five counts of official misconduct, three of possession with intent to deliver a prohibited dangerous drug, and public servant bribery.
DDOC suspects cocaine trafficking at Wilmington’s Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. State police say Hull accepted money from an inmate and helped get drugs into the prison between December 2025 and January 2026.
Sunday, Newark police found Hull and his associate selling cocaine at Peoples Plaza Shopping Center. Authorities found 264 synthetic marijuana doses, 24 grams of remifentanil, and 27 suboxone pieces in their bags.
Delaware Corrections Commissioner Terra Taylor said illegal activities imperil inmates, visitors, and staff. She added that the government would utilize all its resources to find and stop illegal things from entering jails.
In the operation, Hull and two others were caught. Wilmington, Delaware prisoner Isaiah Boykin, 30, and Conowingo, Maryland resident Autumn James, 35, were charged with drug, bribery, conspiracy, organized crime, and racketeering.
The court released Hull and James after they posted $132,000 and $70,000 bonds. The $640,000 monetary bond holds Boykin in jail. Hull may have been fired from Delaware Corrections.
The arrests show police and jail officials’ efforts to curb prison crime and protect staff, inmates, and the public. Police are still examining drug business size.
