Late-Night Crash on Route 9 Leaves 72-Year-Old Woman Dead in Manalapan

A tragic late-night incident on Route 9 in Manalapan has resulted in the death of a 72-year-old woman after she was struck by a pickup truck, according to authorities.

The crash occurred Tuesday night at approximately 10:56 p.m. in the southbound left lane near Russell Court. Officials from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the victim, identified as Deborah Ross, was hit by the vehicle under circumstances that are still under active investigation.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the collision. Despite their efforts, Ross was pronounced dead at 11:26 p.m. Authorities have not yet released details about her hometown.
