Elderly Woman Charged After Alleged Drunk Driving Crash Injures Children Outside Freehold Township Preschool

After hitting two young boys and their mother outside a preschool in Freehold Township, New Jersey, a 68-year-old Monmouth County lady is charged with various crimes.

The Freehold Township Police Department reported the crash Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. near Bloom Academy on Pond Road. Authorities said the truck hit the family as they left the preschool, injuring them.

Police identified the driver as Manalapan resident Angela F. Arrigo. Her intoxication was determined by police after a scene investigation.

Officials said Arrigo was accused with endangering a kid and auto assault. She received a DUI summons along with the criminal charges. Police acknowledged that two boys and their mother were injured, but did not provide any details.

The incident occurred during a busy afternoon pickup period when families were coming and leaving school grounds, raising safety worries among Freehold Township parents and locals.
