Allegiant Expands Atlantic City Service With New Nonstop Flights to Myrtle Beach Starting in May

Beginning May 21, Allegiant Air will launch nonstop service to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, offering travelers another warm-weather getaway choice at Atlantic City International Airport. The South Jersey Transportation Authority and Allegiant announced the agreement, marking another step in the airport’s ongoing commercial flight service expansion.

Leisure travelers will have a direct and economical route from Atlantic City International Airport to Myrtle Beach International Airport, one of the East Coast’s most popular beach resorts. New service introductory tickets start at $49, according to the statement.

Allegiant is expanding at Atlantic City for the first time since opening last year. After entering the market, the Las Vegas-based carrier began offering regular service to Florida locations. Myrtle Beach’s addition shows confidence in regional vacation travel.

Allegiant Chief Commercial Officer Drew Wells emphasizes the airline’s commitment to inexpensive travel to popular destinations. He said the new route is handy for leisure passengers and follows the airline’s goal of expanding in high-demand sectors. Wells said Allegiant will keep giving value to customers as it grows.

In addition, Allegiant is expanding corporately. The airline plans to buy Sun Country Airlines for $1.5 billion, but regulatory approval is needed. In addition, Allegiant has added routes in Florida, Alabama, and New York as part of its network expansion.

Beyond Allegiant’s intentions, Atlantic City International Airport has seen increased aircraft activity. Spirit Airlines, which has dominated Atlantic City flights, will return to Myrtle Beach on April 15. This means South Carolina coast vacationers have multiple options.

Breeze Airways, which launched from Atlantic City last autumn, is adding destinations this spring. It will fly to Raleigh, North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina, and link to Tampa, Florida. These additions indicate a larger airport commercial service improvement endeavor.

Both Allegiant and Breeze entered Atlantic City within six months, indicating revived interest in the South Jersey market by low-cost carriers. As summer travel approaches, airline competition may offer travelers more schedule and pricing flexibility.

In November, Allegiant announced new routes between Florida and Trenton-Mercer Airport, demonstrating their continuous investment in New Jersey tourism markets.

The upcoming May 21 inauguration of the Atlantic City-Myrtle Beach route is anticipated to offer accessible, affordable options for families and visitors seeking direct access to the Grand Strand. Regional travelers may find more nonstop alternatives and low pricing in spring and summer as South Jersey airlines extend service.
