McDonald’s Revives a Childhood Classic with Limited-Time Pokemon Happy Meal

McDonald’s is bringing back the Pokemon-themed Happy Meal for all ages. This special promotion will celebrate Pokemon’s 30th anniversary in February 2026, bringing nostalgia to 1990s-born millennials.

McDonald’s and Pokemon have worked together since 1999’s “Pokemon: The First Movie.” The companies have worked on Happy Meals cards, stickers, and packaging for years. They returned in early 2025 with a four-card Pokemon TCG booster and sticker activity sheet with every Happy Meal, which collectors and casual fans enjoyed.

The upcoming campaign says the new Happy Meal will continue this. Expect Pokemon-themed packaging and four-card booster packs. This set may resemble Pokemon’s 25th anniversary 50-card collection, which excites new and old collectors.

Pokemon Day is February 27, 2026, and the promotion runs until March 2026. This limited length emphasizes Happy Meals’ sentimental appeal, prompting fans to act quickly to grab their favorite Pokemon products.

Bringing McDonald’s and Pokemon together appeals to multiple generations. Millennials remember their childhood, while younger fans obtain their first Pokemon things. These ads demonstrate how nostalgic marketing can excite generations beyond fast food.

McDonald’s marketing calendar highlights this relationship since customers may expect collectibles and a special Happy Meal. Check local McDonald’s for February’s limited-time deal.
