U.S. Senator Hits Historic Low as Party Base Loses Faith, Polling Expert Reveals

New polls show Chuck Schumer losing support. Senate Democratic leaders’ honor fell to a 30-year low. According to Harry Enten polls, Schumer has the lowest Democratic net approval rating since 1985 at -4 percent.
Democrats dislike Schumer’s legislative talks. The Senate passed three long-term food aid and spending bills 60–40. Democrats prioritized Affordable Care Act subsidies but did not extend them. Eight Democrats supported Republicans and Schumer opposed the bill. It appeared his party was split.
Enten found Democrats doubt their leader can oppose opposing views. After losing, Schumer appears weak. Nearly half of NY Democrats prefer Ocasio-Cortez to Schumer. Other half like Schumer.
Democrats want Schumer to resign as caucus leader. They say his failure to stop moderate Senate Democrats from voting for Republicans hurts party policy. Even though pressure was mounting, no Senator called for his removal on Tuesday afternoon.
Unpopular Democrats threaten Schumer’s Senate majority and leadership. Trust in the Democratic Party must return before the next election. If Schumer can’t control the agenda or win real victories, Democrats may not vote for him in November.
Democratic Party members feel ignored and think leaders can’t fight. This incident shows party problems. Schumer’s party may disintegrate and seek a new leader if voters reject him.
