Today’s New Jersey Weather: Rain, Thunderstorms, and Humid Conditions

Showers and thunderstorms will make New Jerseyans’ day muddy and unstable. Morning rains may lead to afternoon storms. Early morning fog may reduce visibility, forecasters predict. It will weigh more than the thermometer in warm, humid weather.

Nights can drop to 67 °F and reach 77. Light south or southwest winds transport moisture inland. Thunderstorms produce more than 1/4-1/2 inch of rain. Heavy rain, perhaps persistent, is expected.

Squalls may last till night. As clouds retain moisture, late-night fog may return. Warm nighttime air and dampness comfort low temperatures.

On Friday, weather should gradually improve. Mornings will be gloomy, but afternoon sun may shine. Expect 81 °F heat. Night and Saturday are cloudy with little rain.

With a modest afternoon rain probability, Saturday is gloomy. A mild 77 °F is expected. After 8 p.m., clouds may bring Saturday night rain.

Sunday will be overcast with early showers. Expect mid-70s highs. Monday is overcast with highs near 78 °F; Tuesday may be sunny as conditions stabilize.

A New Jersey storm and fog day may complicate travel and outdoor plans. Later in the week, weather should improve, but people should be vigilant at night and early morning.
