Parsippany NJ DEA & FBI Morning Raid: Armed Suspect Shot, Roads Closed

In Parsippany, New Jersey, Federal Agents Face an Armed Suspect — One Hurt in the Morning Operation
Early Wednesday morning, federal agents surrounded a home in a quiet Parsippany neighborhood as part of a major police operation. The search was approved by a judge. Police officers with long guns were present during the tense scene. One suspect was shot and immediately taken to the hospital.
The suspect’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to the police. During the event, no government agents were hurt. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and other government partners led the operation, which started before dawn and saw a lot of police on Kingston Road and in the areas around it.
Residents Are Sent Inside by a Morning Raid
Early in the morning, around 6:30 a.m., Parsippany police sent out an urgent public alert telling people in the targeted area to stay inside their houses. As a man came out of a house with his hands high, federal agents were seen setting up behind it. Soon after, shots were fired.
It’s not clear from what police say whether the subject was arrested right away. They said the shooting happened while the search order was being carried out, and the case is now being looked into. The FBI is in charge of all follow-up questions.
Neighborhood Roads Were Closed
Many municipality roads were closed for the enormous operation. Kingston Road between Route 202 and Alloway Road was closed for hours while police worked. Route 202 north at Park Road was closed briefly but reopened before 8 a.m.
Police said the situation was under control around 7:15 a.m. and there was no threat. However, several police were present all morning.
Police haven’t said why they have the search order or who the suspect is. DEA and FBI will likely offer more details as the inquiry progresses.
Residents say the morning incident was unsettling but were happy no police officers were hurt. “That’s not what you expect to wake up to,” said a neighbor. “I’m glad it’s over and that everyone is okay.”
Police want anyone with information to contact the federal government as the case continues.
