Nor’easter Threatening New Jersey with Strong Winds, Coastal Flooding, and Possible Evacuations

New Jersey will suffer a terrible nor’easter this weekend. Up to 60 mph winds, severe rain, and coastal flooding are forecast. As this system strengthens, people are displaced. A national emergency happened.

By late Saturday night, the governor’s administration would declare an emergency in all 21 New Jersey counties. This accelerates government storm response. It’s an emergency till weather improves. Police and emergency agencies encourage coastal people to keep alert and follow locals.

Land winds and high tides can flood beaches, destroy dunes, and create waves. NWS anticipates “strong to damaging winds” and huge waves in several regions. Ocean waves reach 12–15 feet.
