New Jersey’s American Dream Prepares for Massive World Cup Crowd with 39-Day Fan Festival
American Dream in East Rutherford is positioning itself as a major hub for visitors during the upcoming FIFA World Cup, announcing an extended 39-day celebration designed to attract fans from across the globe. The large retail and entertainment complex plans to host “Dream Fan Fest,” a full-scale series of events running from June 11 through July 19, aligning closely with the World Cup schedule.
Located next to MetLife Stadium, American Dream is expected to benefit directly from the tournament’s presence in the region. The stadium is scheduled to host eight matches, including the final game on July 19, making the surrounding area a key destination for international visitors.
The Dream Fan Fest will feature a wide range of activities designed to keep fans engaged throughout the tournament. Organizers have confirmed viewing parties, concerts, celebrity appearances, and branded experiences as part of the lineup. Additional attractions will include water park events, original programming, and interactive entertainment across the complex.
According to American Dream’s leadership, the goal is to create a central gathering place for fans beyond the stadium itself. The company sees the World Cup as a rare opportunity to bring global attention to the region while offering a controlled, indoor environment with diverse entertainment options.
Economic expectations for the area are significant. A study conducted by Deloitte and commissioned by Airbnb estimates that around 238,000 tourists will visit New Jersey and New York during the tournament. The projected economic impact is approximately $288 million, highlighting the scale of the event’s influence on local businesses and tourism.
American Dream is aiming to capture a portion of that activity through both its festival programming and its infrastructure. One key component is parking. Since parking at MetLife Stadium will not be available during the World Cup, American Dream has partnered with JustPark to provide thousands of parking spaces for visitors. The complex is directly connected to the stadium via pedestrian bridges, making it a convenient alternative for attendees.
Parking prices have already been outlined for early stages of the tournament. Rates will be set at $225 for group stage matches and the round of 32, increasing to $300 for the round of 16. Pricing for the final stages has not yet been announced.
Beyond logistics, the festival will activate nearly every part of the 3.5 million square foot property. American Dream’s 250 retail stores, 65 dining venues, and more than 30 attractions are expected to participate. Restaurants within the complex will offer customized menus and game-day experiences tailored for fans, corporate partners, and international visitors.
Major venues inside the property, including The Rink, Dream Live Performing Arts Center, Expo Center, and DreamWorks Water Park, will host live performances and post-match events. Organizers emphasize that the programming will run continuously throughout the tournament, not just on match days.
The complex has also been expanding its soccer-related offerings ahead of the World Cup. Adidas has opened a U.S.-exclusive soccer-focused flagship store at the site. In addition, The Soccer Factory, an immersive museum celebrating Diego Maradona, launched in October 2025. Another major attraction, The Messi Experience, dedicated to Lionel Messi, is expected to open in June, just before the tournament begins.
Community engagement is also part of the broader plan. American Dream is working with a regional Hispanic business organization to create La Plaza de Fútbol, a marketplace where around 1,000 small businesses from New Jersey will showcase their products and services. This initiative aims to give local entrepreneurs visibility during a time of increased global traffic.
In the lead-up to the tournament, the venue will also host an important promotional event. The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola is scheduled to stop at The Rink at American Dream on June 3 and 4, giving fans an early opportunity to connect with the tournament experience.
With its scale, location, and extensive programming, American Dream is making a clear push to become more than just a nearby attraction. It is aiming to serve as a central destination for World Cup fans, offering a full entertainment experience that extends beyond the matches themselves.
