New Jersey Officer Cleared in Fatal High-Speed Chase Incident

Large voter registration drives are changing New Jersey politics as November approaches. Republicans won over 164,000 votes, but Democrats remain in charge. Republican voter turnout is rising rapidly, raising electoral concerns.

The NJ Division of Elections reported 6.6 million registered voters on October 1. 2-thirds of voters form parties. At 38%, Democrats outnumber voters. It has 25% Republicans and 35% independents. Very few votes go to small third parties.

Changes are obvious. GOP votes rose 163,800 (10%) since 2021. Somerset County lost GOP seats while 20 of 21 gained. Dems lost 51,000 voters, 2% registration. Cumberland County Democrats lost 8% of registered voters.

A surprising swing narrowed the party split. This reduces Democrats’ lead, worrying November voters. Due to the 2024 presidential race, Republican states may have enlisted more.

June primary voter turnout rose 35,000, 0.5%. There was no winner. Primary party switches by non-party members matter. Since June, large parties have registered more people in every county than no party.

The numbers may alter before the October 14 general election. Swap voting methods. People may admire a party’s enthusiasm, activity, and attitude yet not vote. People can switch parties during the general election.

New Jersey and Virginia elect governors in November. Garden State elections predict national politics. Republicans registered and voted more than Democrats.

New GOP voters may redden NJ. The state’s government may change after November.
