New Jersey Faces Chilly Weekend with Small Snow Chances Across the State

weather

Winter will bring another cold weekend in New Jersey. Statewide forecasts are for dry, chilly, snowy weather.

Light snow bands will cease early Friday, bringing sunny weather. Even with sunshine, highs will be 30s. Strong 20–30 mph winds feel cooler. A chilly, quiet night should have 5–10 mph winds and clear skies.

A southbound low-pressure system will shift clouds Saturday. Rain is possible tonight and Sunday, but days will be dry with highs in the 30s again. Northern regions may get a few snowflakes, while southern and Jersey Shore areas may get 20–30% light snow.

Sunday will see clouds slowly clear, keeping temperatures in the 30s. Until Monday, highs will be in the 30s and possibly the 20s in the north.

Next week should warm as high-pressure systems move offshore. Weather should hit 40s on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the 40s and low 50s may be warmer than typical. A cold front is predicted Wednesday. This influences moisture-dependent rainfall. Pressure will build Thursday after this front. Lower but above-average temperatures are expected in early January.

Watch the weather for severe winds and very cold temperatures, especially in the north where wind chills may worsen winter.
