N.J. Bakery Specializing in Bolivian Street Foods to Open First Storefront

A food truck called Tunkas Bolivian Baked Goods will launch in northern New Jersey. The Bolivian street food bakery will build a 911-square-foot Livingston café with distinctive meals.

The bakery is famous for its salteñas, a classic Bolivian meat pie. Bolivian cakes with a golden, slightly sweet surface and savory, broth-filled inside are rare outside Bolivia due to intricate baking. Careful preparation of salteñas is crucial to minimize liquid filling leakage during high-temperature baking, resulting in magnificent masterpieces.

East Orange’s Tunkas food truck lovers demand housing. Old Rush Bowls replaced by new Livingston Town Center restaurant. The bakery will provide Bolivian-inspired treats including alfajores, fresh breads, coffee/tea, and salteñas.

Livingston Town Center has bakeries, gyms, beauty salons, banks, and specialty retailers. The two-story commerce complex comprises 29 600-5,000-square-foot tenant spaces, few of which are retail, restaurant, or office.
