Murphy Expands Support for New Jersey’s Military Families Through New Initiative

Governor Phil Murphy has pledged to help military families in New Jersey. Murphy announced New Jersey’s participation in the national “Do Your Part” campaign to improve resources for active-duty, Guard, and Reserve military members and their families.
The program, developed with Blue Star Families and the National Governors Association, helps states identify and address military families’ biggest issues. New Jersey joined due to a rising awareness of military households’ challenges, including cheap housing, reliable health care, quality education, and steady job possibilities.
Governor Murphy stressed that helping military families is about appreciating their contributions and making them feel safe and appreciated in their home state. While service members serve the country, their loved ones often face obstacles at home, from moving to new communities to coping with deployments.
New Jersey should expand mental health, career, and community assistance initiatives by joining this campaign. Officials hope the change will benefit thousands of families who have settled in the state while juggling military duties.
Murphy’s move follows a national trend of governments actively helping military families. The governor said the law shows New Jersey’s dedication to helping service members and their families succeed.
