Middlesex County Man Accused of Fatally Shooting Brother in New Brunswick

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office charged a 28-year-old New Brunswick resident with murder after he fatally shot his older brother inside their shared home on Riverside Drive Sunday afternoon.
At 12:42 p.m., New Brunswick police responded to gunfire at a residence. Police found 31-year-old Ahmad Sannoh with multiple gunshot wounds. He died after being taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital by emergency responders.
Investigators believe his brother, Hassan Sannoh, 28, who lives on Riverside Drive, shot the victim. Authorities said both males listed the same address.
Murder and weapons charges have been filed against the suspect. He is in Middlesex County Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing. New Jersey law allows murder offenders to be detained for judicial review.
The situation is still being investigated, officials said. Detectives are seeking witnesses and surveillance footage from the public. Anyone with information on the incident should contact New Brunswick Police Detective Brandt Gregus at 732-745-5217 or Middlesex County Prosecutor Detective Stephanie Redline at 732-745-3316.
A motive has not yet been revealed by authorities.
Investigators are still investigating the shooting, which has shaken the local community. Police vowed to undertake a thorough and transparent investigation in compliance with New Jersey state law.
After the suspect’s pretrial hearing, legal updates are expected.
