Man Charged After Allegedly Advertising Dental Services on WhatsApp Without License, Court Records Show

An Old Bridge woman is charged with major crimes for promoting dental services on WhatsApp and performing a root canal without a license.

Police have charged Ana C. Amato, 49, with unlawful dentistry, aggravated violence, and financial facilitation of criminal behavior. The case raises worries about private chat platforms promoting unlicensed medical services.

A man saw Amato’s ad in a WhatsApp group discussion, according to investigators. The male called the woman to schedule dental procedures, according to court filings. The man allegedly agreed to pay $1,000 for a root canal via WhatsApp.

Authorities say Amato tried to perform the root canal without a dental license. Due to health dangers, practicing dentistry without a state license is illegal. Dental operations like root canals require specific training, sterile equipment, and strict state health restrictions to prevent infection and catastrophic injury.

The allegations against Amato are severe. When someone gives dental care without a state license, they are conducting illegal dentistry. Aggravated assault charges indicate that detectives feel the accused actions put the patient at risk. The financial facilitation of criminal activities allegation involves the alleged exchange of illegal money.

The man’s condition has not been disclosed by officials. The charges will be evaluated and addressed under New Jersey law in court.

Before treating patients, dentists must complete authorized schooling, pass national and state exams, and be licensed. These precautions enhance patient safety and professional responsibility. Authorities encourage residents to check professional licenses before agreeing to medical or dental operations, especially when promoted online or informally.

This instance shows the risks of providing healthcare outside medical institutions. Law enforcement continues to emphasize verifying credentials and seeking care from certified providers.

Amato is assumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
