Long‐Term Search Intensifies for Missing New Jersey College Student in South Carolina

Missing college student Owen Tillman Kenney, 19, since Halloween. Charleston police are expanding their search. New Jersey resident Kenney was last seen crossing the Ravenel Bridge pedestrian bridge at 3 a.m., authorities said. Phone ping corresponded with final sighting.

Kenney, a 2024 Red Bank Catholic High School alumni, attended Charleston. Kenney vanished after a Halloween party while walking alone. The witnesses initially reported a green and white Boston Celtics jersey, but closer inspection revealed a black hooded jacket, light-colored slacks, and black Nike sneakers with white soles.

Charleston Police, CSO Aviation Unit, drones, K9 teams, and underwater recovery agencies are searching. FBI and NJ State Police help detectives find all leads.

Kenney’s family and friends want public aid out of concern. He was 6-foot-1, 155 pounds, and had tattoos on his right forearm, left shoulder, left shin, and knee. Campus threats are not reported at Charleston College.

Community urgency grows daily. Charleston people worry about a child disappearing from a popular pedestrian area between school and the College of Charleston. Authorities caution that even minor witness details can narrow the search.

Kenney’s family awaits clues to his safe return after a thorough search. Call police immediately if you spotted or heard something crucial.
