Clarkson, the Grammy winner, has canceled her Las Vegas residency after the sudden passing of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, who struggled with health issues for many years. Brandon Blackstock’s sudden death at 48 came as a shock.

Formerly a music manager for Clarkson and Shelton, Blackstock died after a three-year battle with cancer. Their marriage from 2013 to 2022 produced two children, 11-year-old River and 9-year-old Remington.

Clarkson began her “Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions” residency at Caesars Palace Colosseum on July 11. Clarkson sent poignant messages on social media after Brandon’s death. She announced that she would no longer perform on November 15, the date she had intended to perform after her residency, to focus on her children.

“Though I usually don’t share details about my private life, for the second time I need to take leave due to the father of my children being sick, and now I need to take care of them,” Clarkson explained. “I need to make sure I show up for them.” “I want to take this opportunity to thank especially those who were scheduled to come to the shows for their understanding and courtesy.”

Prior to taking on the unique role as the manager of the Valley View Rodeo in Montana, Blackstock spent several years in the music business, showing that his interests were wide-ranging. His adult children, Savannah and Seth, born from a previous relationship, also survive Clarkson along with Clarkson’s children.

Singers and fans alike have mourned the passing of Clarkson’s husband, praising the enduring love of Clarkson for making the choice to prioritize her children during her career.
